Cristiano Ronaldo when asked about his future: “There are things I can’t control”

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Josep Pedrerol of El Chiringuito de Jugones during the Open Media Day ahead of the Champions League Final against Liverpool. The Portuguese star delivered some interesting quotes.

“Right now my future is next Saturday. That’s all that matters. Last year I said that I’d retire when I turn 41 years old. My future? There are things I can’t control,” said Ronaldo when asked about whether he will stay with Real Madrid in the long term.

Ronaldo was also asked about the rumors suggesting that Real Madrid want to sign Neymar this summer.

“There are always rumors here. I don’t control the transfers, but I’ve been here for the last eight years and you always hear around 50 names of players who could sign for Madrid and in the end it’s not true. In the end, the group we have right now is the one winning trophies,” he explained.

“I can only say that if we play like we always do we will win,” said a confident Ronaldo when asked about the Final against Liverpool. “I’ll always say it. Real Madrid is the best club in the world,” he concluded.
