Real Madrid publish emotional video to thank Zinedine Zidane

Real Madrid published an emotional video tribute on their official website after Zinedine Zidane announced his decision to leave the club early this Thursday.

The Frenchman has won three straight Champions League titles, two UEFA Supercups, two FIFA Club World Cups, a Spanish Supercup and a La Liga title, becoming one of the most successful managers in club history after just two and a half seasons in charge.

“I made the decision to step down. I know it’s weird, but this team needs a change to keep winning, they need a different perspective, a different way of doing things and that’s why I decided to leave,” said Zidane. “I love Real Madrid and president Perez,” he added.

Los Blancos will now try to find a replacement for the Frenchman as soon as possible, with Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Guti being two likely targets for the job, according to reports published in the Spanish press.
