Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas was named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week after his excellent performance in the return leg against Bayern Munich last Tuesday, when Los Blancos secured their presence in the upcoming Champions League Final in Kyiv.
Navas rescued Madrid with two key saves when the game was on the line and with a 2-2 on the scoreboard. Bayern created more than enough chances to earn the ticket to the Final but the Costa Rican keeper managed to rescue his team and will defend Madrid’s goal in his third straight Champions League Final.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane received 45% of the votes and finished the poll as the second best of the player for this Champions League week, even though Keylor Navas’ main rival for the award should have probably been Karim Benzema, who scored two goals and recovered seven balls during the course of the game.
