Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo played only 45 minutes of El Clasico against Barcelona after picking up an ankle injury while scoring the opening goal for his team. He was feeling a lot of pain after that goal but he ultimately stayed on the pitch for the rest of the half, meaning that his injury shouldn’t keep him out of the Champions League Final against Liverpool.
“I don’t know how long he’ll be out. He said it wasn’t much, but we’ll see tomorrow, we’ll do some tests to see the extend of the damage done to his ankle. He was a little worried because it was a bit swollen, but he said that it’s nothing serious,” said coach Zidane after the game.
Real Madrid will likely publish a medical report on Cristiano Ronaldo’s ankle soon, although it seems clear that the attacker will rest until the Final against Liverpool so that he can have enough time to recover.
