Moroco may be underdogs heading into the World Cup, but don’t write them off in a group with Portugal and Spain. The boys in green and red cruised to a 3-1 victory over Estonia in their final pre-tournament friendly.
There is dynamism and pace in this young Moroccan side. The likes of Ziyech, Belhanda, Munir, and Hakimi himself have superb technique, athleticism, and youthful energy. Moroco dominated proceedings and played some aesthetically-pleasing football.
Hakimi was positioned as right back although Herve Renard has no qualms in switching the youngster to left back at any given moment. Estonia failed to present any real offensive challenge thus Achraf was hardly tested defensively. As an undisputed starter, Achraf plays with greater confidence with the national team. The former canterano was crisp with his passing and left behind the stalled and indecisive crossing that had become a poor habit for Madrid during the season. A good World Cup, would be crucial to Achraf’s development and provide confidence heading back to Madrid for pre-season.
