Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard couldn’t be more explicit. In an interview with L’Equipe he seemed to be very interested in signing for Real Madrid this summer.
“Real Madrid could be interesting for me as everyone knows. They know what they have to do if they want me,” said the Belgian winger.
However, he let Madrid know that he wants to have a certain role in the team.
“If it is going to Madrid just to go there then no. I need a project and at Chelsea I have one,” he added.
It seems clear that Real Madrid will not be all that interested in Hazard now that Zinedine Zidane has left the club. Instead, it appears that they will focus on Marco Asensio, who could be getting an important role under new coach Julen Lopetegui. All in all, signing Hazard would be quite expensive and the Belgian attacker would also take some minutes away from Asensio.
