Portugal are coming off an encouraging draw against Spain and they’ll be able to rely on Cristiano Ronaldo, who is in great firm after scoring a hattrick in their debut game.

However, they can’t afford to relax as the winner of this group will most likely be decided by goal average, at least if both Spain and Portugal take care of business against the weaker Iran and Morocco.

Portugal will be required to play with a different mentality than the one they showed against Spain. They will be expected to dominate the match against Morocco and that could make Fernando Santos’ men uncomfortable if they can’t create good chances. Morocco played a good game against Iran and could have some counterattacking chances if Portugal’s midfielders cannot recover the ball quickly enough.

Either way, it’s clear that Portugal will have the edge to win this game by a solid margin, just like Spain against Iran.
