Real Madrid confirmed that they signed Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin this Friday.
Real Madrid C. F. and FC Zorya Luhansk have reached an agreement for the transfer of Andriy Lunin, who joins the club on a six-year deal.

Lunin is a 19-year-old goalkeeper who will not have a relevant role in the team any time soon. However, this could reveal that Los Blancos are planning on keeping Keylor Navas for the next few years instead of signing a marquee goalkeeper like Thibaut Courtois or Alisson Becker, who had been rumored to be on Madrid’s radar this summer.
Signing Lunin is a low risk-high reward move which could eventually pay dividends for Madrid like when they signed Raphael Varane for €10 million. Lunin appears to have great potential but could need to leave the club on a loan deal in order to reach it, given that goalkeepers do not rotate as often as other players.
