Real Madrid wonder kid Marco Asensio acknowledged during today’s press conference that he’s on Liverpool’s radar to join the team this summer and yet refused to deny he’s interested in leaving Real Madrid.
“Liverpool? It’s something that has been rumored but I’m focused in this World Cup. We’ll talk about this matter after the World Cup ends, right now this World Cup is all I care about,” said Asensio.
Asensio is admitting that he will be willing to talk about Liverpool’s potential offer once the tournament ends, something that suggests that he could eventually consider a move out of Real Madrid.
Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer €180 million for the Spanish attacker and it’s clear that they would increase Asensio’s current salary. Asensio could be trying to get a raise by suggesting that he could consider Liverpool’s offer, but he has a €700 million release clause and a contract which expires in 2023, so it will not be easy for him to leave if that’s what he wants.
