Carvajal: “If Florentino wants to sign Neymar we’ll have to save a locker for him”

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal spoke to Cadena SER last night and delivered some interesting quotes about the team’s upcoming transfer window.

“I don’t know if Neymar was born to play for Madrid. Of course, Madrid always try that the best players play for them and he would give us many things. If Florentino Perez is determined to sign him we will have to save a locker for him,” said Carvajal.

Real Madrid seem ready to sign a backup for Carvajal. Los Blancos are reportedly going to trigger the €40 million release clause on Odriozola’s contract with Real Sociedad and Carvajal might finally have some competition for the starting spot. Still, he is not afraid.

“If the president and the coach think we need him, we will welcome Odriozola for sure. He’s a very complete player and we will welcome him,” concluded Carvajal.

Spain will face Russia in the World Cup Round of 16 this Sunday, with Carvajal expected to start the game.
