Spanish right-back Alvaro Odriozola is on Real Madrid’s radar and it looks like he could sign for the club this summer. The defender delivered some quotes about the rumors suggesting that Los Blancos will pay his €40 million release clause.
“It’s part of the business. I just see all these rumors as anecdotes,” said Odriozola to Hoy when asked about the matter.
“I’ve said it many times, I’m just focused in playing and training well,” added the right-back, who will be in the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the Spanish national team.
Real Madrid are desperate about signing a quality backup for Dani Carvajal. The young Achraf Hakimi proved that he’s not reliable enough for that spot just yet, even though he might be a good option in the future. Odriozola is still 22 years old and could learn a lot by playing behind Carvajal in the rotation, although it will be tough for him to earn the starting job.
