Toni Kroos publicly supported Sergio Ramos in an interview with Augsburger Allgemeine. The midfielder was asked about Ramos’ collision with Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius and delivered some interesting quotes.
“I’m completely sure that Ramos had no intention to actually injury him during the game. A foul wasn’t called but it’s clear that Ramos isn’t doing anything overly aggressive there and experience shows us that he is not that kind of player. I’m happy about him being our captain and I didn’t see anything dirty there,” said Kroos.
Keep in mind that Karius apparently picked up a concussion on that collision and that was the reason why he made those two mistakes during the game, according to the Massachusetts General Hospital. However, it’s also true that Karius never felt like he wasn’t ready enough to play after that clash.
Kroos will be defending the World Cup title he conquered with Germany four years ago and his contribution to the German National Team has made him a key player for coach Joachim Low.
