Real Madrid's Brazilian hunt of wonderkids is still not over. The latest player to caught the eye of Spanish giants is the 17 years old Santos sensation - Rodrygo Silva de Goes. This extremely gifted young left winger took the 2018 by storm. In the last match against EC Victoria, he scored his professional hattrick. He was the first player born after 2000 to score a hattrick in the top Brazilian league.
Unsurprisingly, the two Spanish rivals emerged as top candidates. However, this is where Real Madrid have an edge over Barcelona. Reportedly, Santos is still not happy over the whole Neymar saga and they are reluctant to deal with Barcelona.
Therefore, it wasn't as surprising when Jose Luis Sanchez reported on Jugones that Real Madrid is very close to sealing the deal for this exciting young player. The reported fee is whooping 45 million euros. A day after this report, Brazilian Globo Esporte reported the same.

This would be the second monster deal that Real Madrid made in Brazil. It's quite clear that Real Madrid focus lies in Brazil and they do not want to miss out on potentially elite players emerging from this country.
UPDATE:
MARCA is now reporting through their journalist Jose Felix Diaz that the deal for Rodrygo was closed last week with 45 million euros transfer fee.
