“Guti will coach Real Madrid,” says Murcia president

Real Madrid legend Jose Maria Gutierrez ‘Guti’ has been in Real Murcia’s shortlist to coach their club during the final third of the season. However, Murcia president Victor Galvez revealed this morning some interesting news.

“Guti will be the coach of Real Madrid so he won’t coach Murcia,” said Galvez when asked about Murcia’s next coach. “I wish Zidane had stayed for two more days so that we could’ve completed the deal for Guti,” he added.

It seems that Real Madrid are still weighing their options to replace Zinedine Zidane. The favorite to become their coach was Mauricio Pochettino but Tottenham president Daniel Levy refuses to let him go and Los Blancos will not negotiate. The same happens with Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. Both men are under contract and will not want to force their way out of their club, so it’d be up to Madrid to send a good offer for them.

In this scenario, it seems that Guti could finally be the man to replace Zidane. The former player revealed that he won’t be coaching Real Madrid’s Juvenil next season and it also seems that Santiago Solari will stay with Castilla, so after Zidane’s departure the door seems open for Guti to become the coach for the first-team.
