Real Madrid confirmed that their promising defender Achraf Hakimi will play for Borussia Dortmund the next two seasons on a loan deal.

Achraf had no room on Real’s squad as soon as Los Blancos decided to buy Alvaro Odriozola. It won’t be easy for Achraf to come back to Real Madrid given that both Carvajal and Odriozola are young, so it might be better for Dortmund’s new defender to play consistently as a left-back.
Achraf will have the opportunity to prove that he can be a relevant player in an elite club. The defender lacked the experience to contribute regularly for Madrid last season, so this move makes sense both for Achraf and also for Real Madrid, given that the team will now have two elite defenders in Carvajal and Odriozola.
