Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez wants to make his return to Real Madrid as early as this summer, according to a report from MARCA. James still has a year left on his loan deal with Bayern Munich and the German side admitted that they want to trigger their option to sign James permanently in 2019, so the return of the midfielder would have to be agreed between both Madrid and Bayern, something which makes things very tough for Los Blancos.
James was not a relevant player for former coach Zinedine Zidane but things could be different now that Julen Lopetegui is in charge. Right now, Madrid’s decision to send James on loan —with an option— to European rivals Bayern makes even less sense than it did a year ago, considering that James could be a useful player.
James completed a good season for Bayern and turned 27 years old this very same Thursday.
