Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui would like to sign Valencia attacker Rodrigo Moreno if Los Blancos end up selling Karim Benzema to Napoli, according to a report from Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
Apparently, Napoli are trying very hard to sign Benzema. Now that Real Madrid don’t have Cristiano Ronaldo, it’d make more sense for Los Blancos to sell the French attacker and completely change their offensive line. If that’s the case, Lopetegui believes Rodrigo Moreno is “the perfect choice” for his new Madrid.
Rodrigo completed his first decent season in the Spanish La Liga last year, scoring 16 goals in 37 matches played for Valencia. He wasn’t good before that season though, so it would be risky for Madrid to consider him worthy of a starting spot in the offensive line.
Rodrigo is 27 years old and Valencia would be keen on selling the player for the right offer as they need the money to sign Gonzalo Guedes.
Lopetegui trusts Rodrigo and included him in Spain’s 23-man squad list for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
