Real Madrid could are finalizing the deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and the signing could become official in the next few days, according to a report from MARCA. Los Blancos would pay around €35 million for the transfer, per that same report.
Courtois’ current contract with Chelsea expires next year, something which made the talks between Madrid and Chelsea significantly easier. Chelsea know that they need to sell the player now if they don’t want him to leave the club as a free agent next season and Madrid are taking advantage of this situation just like it happened with Toni Kroos when the midfielder left Bayern to play in the Spanish capital.
Courtois completed an excellent World Cup for Belgium and he is still 26 years old, which means that he will be Madrid’s number 1 option for the starting spot for a while if he can perform well enough.
