The Neymar saga is over. The Brazilian star publicly confirmed that he won’t be leaving Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid this summer, putting an end to all the rumors suggesting that he was going to force his departure from the French club.

“I will continue, I have a contract with Paris Saint-Germain,” Neymar told Fox Sports during a charity event.

“I went there for a challenge, to try new things and to pursue my objectives. None of that has changed in my head. There was too speculation. It’s a topic that bores me, but everyone knows how fond I am of the president of the country and of the fans,” added Neymar.

Real Madrid were reportedly waiting for Neymar to publicly say that he wanted to leave PSG in order to make a move for him, although the club refuted their interest in the attacker twice in just 10 days. Now, it’s clear that Neymar won’t be playing for Madrid next season and Los Blancos will be able to focus on other upgrades for their current squad.
