Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic revealed in an interview with MARCA a month ago that he wanted to leave Real Madrid this summer. Apparently, Kovacic hasn’t changed his mind now that Julen Lopetegui is the coach of the team, according to another report from MARCA.

Kovacic and Lopetegui had a talk in Valdebebas this week with the midfielder telling his new boss that he wants to leave the Spanish capital in order to find minutes as a starter. Clubs like Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Juventus or Manchester United are interested in the young midfielder and have even promised a very relevant role for him.

Considering that Kovacic would need to wait until Modric entered an obvious decline in order to play week in and week out for Madrid, it seems that Los Blancos will just have to let Kovacic go. According to this last report from MARCA, Madrid are hoping to earn at least €50 million for the midfielder.
