Real Madrid want to send Theo Hernandez away from the club after what was a very disappointing debut season for the young defender. Los Blancos would also be interested in Brazilian left-back Alex Telles, who plays for Porto, according to a report from Portuguese paper Record.
Theo completed his signing for Madrid a year ago after a magnificent season for Alaves. However, his performances have been very poor and Los Blancos would be seeking for another backup for Marcelo, given that Theo wasn’t reliable enough.
That’s where Telles fits right in. Marcelo would still be the undisputed starter on the left flank but Telles has the experience and composure to play there when needed. Los Blancos negotiated with Porto this Monday, per that same report from Record.
If Madrid decide to let Theo go, they would include a buyback clause given that he’s still very young and still has the potential to be a relevant player.
Either way, it’s clear that Real Madrid have other needs right now, so take this rumors with a grain of salt.
