Theo Hernandez set to sign for Real Sociedad

Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez is set to join Real Sociedad on a loan deal which could be announced later today, according to reports from multiple sites like MARCA and AS. Real Sociedad will not have an option to buy the player permanently, per those same reports.

Therefore, Theo will have a chance to prove himself worthy of a spot in Real Madrid’s squad, something he didn’t do in his debut season with the club last year. Madrid spent close to €30 million to sign Theo away from Atletico de Madrid after the fantastic performances he completed when he was on loan with Alaves but the youngster wasn’t neither reliable defensively nor brilliant when Madrid had the ball.

Real Sociedad like to play with an attacking mentality and have a quality team where Theo should be the starting left-back. Real Madrid will pay close attention to his performances in order to see if he can be a relevant player for them in the future.
