Real Madrid players Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio, Nacho Fernandez and Lucas Vazquez put an end to their holidays and rejoined the squad in training this past Friday, even though the Spaniards could’ve waited one more week because they advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
That’s why Carvajal, Ramos and Isco are not training with the squad just yet, given that they also played more than the aforementioned players in the tournament. Still, Isco will travel with the team today.
Coach Julen Lopetegui will be able to rely on Toni Kroos in the upcoming UEFA Super Cup against Atletico de Madrid. Still, key players for Madrid like Varane and Modric will probably miss that game given that they played in the World Cup Final.
Real Madrid will play their first friendly on August 1st against Manchester United in Miami. They will travel to the United States today to complete their pre-season and feature in the International Champions Cup.
