Future Real Madrid player Rodrygo Goes shared his thoughts on his move to the Spanish club, which was completed last month.

“I’m very happy but I’m completely focused on Santos, I’m not thinking about Real Madrid and I will only do that next year,” said Rodrygo.

Real Madrid spent €45 million to sign the player away from Santos but he will spend the next few seasons in his club as he will not join Madrid until he turns 18 years old. Rodrygo is another promising player like Vinicius Junior, but Real Madrid will need to take care of the development of these two players given that they will need minutes to keep improving, meaning that Madrid will almost surely send them on a loan deal before they contribute on the first team.

Rodrygo is now 17 years old and is already a relevant player for Santos, so his gaining valuable experience in the Brazilian league right now.
