Real Madrid offered €60 million to sign Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to a report from Tuttosport. The Italian club rejected Madrid’s offer and Los Blancos are not expected to raise that bar, so Pjanic might end up signing a contract extension with Juventus, per that same report.
It seems that Real Madrid are indeed looking to sign a replacement for Mateo Kovacic. Thiago and now Pjanic have reportedly been on Madrid’s radar but right now it seems that Dani Ceballos will be the one taking on Kovacic’s minutes this season. Isco could also get that kind of role in the midfield to slot Asensio in the offensive line whenever Modric and Kroos aren’t available.
Pjanic is a starter for Juventus and while he definitely is a quality midfielder, there’s just no way he would have that kind of role with Modric and Kroos on the team. That’s why this particular rumor seems unlikely.
