Real Madrid host Getafe in their opening game of the 2018-19 La Liga season. Club legends Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo left the club this summer and now Madrid must find a way to compete week in and week out without them.

Coach Lopetegui is reportedly asking the club to make at least one signing but so far only Thibaut Courtois has been an upgrade. He’s not expected to start today even though Keylor Navas conceded four goals against Atletico de Madrid last Wednesday. Courtois could take that spot away from Navas very soon but maybe he hasn’t trained with the squad enough just yet.

Other than that, this will be Gareth Bale’s first chance to make a statement. He will be required to lead the team offensively now that Ronaldo is gone. Bale must not only contribute consistently but also he has to find a way to stay healthy as this team can’t afford him to lose more games.
