Modric denies reports saying he contacted Inter Milan

La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported this Sunday that midfielder Luka Modric was the one contacting Inter Milan over a potential move to the Italian Serie A. However, Real Madrid’s midfielder denied those reports with a comment on Instagram.

The original post on Instagram said that FIFA called Luka Modric after Real Madrid denounced Inter Milan to the Association for talking to the midfielder while he was under contract.

“This is the most stupid thing in history!!!” wrote Modric in the comment section.

Modric will now stay with Real Madrid and it looks like Los Blancos will give him a significant raise, one the midfielder was demanding. Modric wanted to earn more and that’s what Inter were offering. Real Madrid didn’t want to let him go and now they will be forced to give the midfielder that new deal.

Modric will be an undisputed starter in Madrid’s midfield under coach Julen Lopetegui.
