Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente might still leave the club this summer. Espanyol are very interested in signing the player on a loan deal, according to Mundo Deportivo, and considering that Llorente is not an important player for coach Julen Lopetegui the club might accept said deal.
Llorente didn’t feature in relevant minutes last season with Zidane and so far it seems that Lopetegui thinks the same way as he wasn’t included in the team’s squad list for Sunday’s match against Getafe.
Llorente appeared to be a very interesting defensive midfielder during his tenure with Alaves, but neither Zidane nor Lopetegui have considered him good enough to play for Real Madrid on a consistent basis. However, it’s also true that he is the only pure backup for Casemiro in the roster, meaning that Lopetegui might decide to keep him just in case the Brazilian pivot has to miss significant time this year.
