Brazilian wonder kid Vinicius Jr. will mostly play with Real Madrid Castilla this season, according to a report from La Sexta Jugones. The young attacker completed a promising pre-season with the first team and most reports suggested that he was going to be a member of the roster. Apparently, he was also given number 16 for this season.
However, coach Julen Lopetegui appears to think that he is not ready to contribute this season. Vinicius didn’t even warm up when Madrid needed to overcome Atletico’s lead in the UEFA Super Cup and he wasn’t used against Getafe either. That’s why the club ultimately decided that he should play for Castilla so that he can get consistent minutes and develop properly this year.
He’s too young to be sitting on the bench one full season. However, if the club wants Vinicius to play this season they should send him on a loan deal to another team in La Liga. He’s too good to be playing in the Segunda Division B.
