Huge away game for Real Madrid as they visit Girona in the second game of the 2018-19 La Liga season. Los Blancos completed a solid performance against Getafe last week but will need to improve a little bit if they want to earn the three points in Girona.

It will be interesting to see if Lopetegui finally decides to give new signing Thibaut Courtois the chance to defend Real Madrid’s goal, although Girona might not be the perfect place for him to get his first start.

Only Jesus Vallejo is injured right now, so coach Lopetegui has every player at his disposal, including the recently recovered Alvaro Odriozola, who could start in the right side of Real’s defensive line. Other than that, Modric and Casemiro might return to the starting linep, which could send either Isco or Asensio to the bench, assuming Ceballos will be one of the players who sits today as well.
