Sevilla coach Pablo Machin revealed that his club might now be interested in signing Real Madrid attacker Borja Mayoral.
“We all want things to go right. Borja Mayoral is a player I like, he doesn’t have as much experience as other players, but I like him,” said Machin.
When asked about whether he would give Mayoral a role as a starter, Machin didn’t want to confirm such thing.
“I don’t guarantee that. Whoever proves himself and trains well will have a spot in the XI. If you’re in good form, you’ll start, if you’re not then it will be harder,” added the coach.
Madrid would likely keep some kind of option on any potential transfer for Mayoral, given that he’s still young and appears to have the potential to succeed.
Sevilla wanted to sign Mariano but Real Madrid managed to get on their way and will end up completing the signing instead, although it has not been confirmed just yet.
“I didn’t speak with Mariano, but I know that he was very excited about joining our team,” said Machin when asked about the attacker.
