Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri spoke to the press and delivered some intriguing quotes about Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is on Real Madrid’s radar to upgrade the goalkeeper spot according to the Spanish press.
“I don’t know. At the moment Courtois is the goalkeeper of Chelsea. I don’t know about the future, it depends on the club and especially on him, but I hope Courtois will be our goalkeeper,” said Sarri without ruling out Courtois’ departure.
Still, the transfer would have to be completed fairly soon, as the transfer window in England closes on August 9th, meaning that Chelsea would need to sign their replacement in the upcoming week.
Courtois is keen on returning to the Spanish capital and Madrid would need a young goalkeeper, so the move makes a lot of sense for both sides, even more if Chelsea don’t want to lose the Belgian star as a free agent next summer.
