Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois wants to join Real Madrid and has already informed the London-based club about his intentions, according to his agent.

“I’ve been reading everywhere that Chelsea are saying that this is up to Courtois, but he has already told the club that the best for him will be to join Real Madrid,” said Christophe Henrotay to The Sun.

“This is a big decision for him because he wants to be with his family and Chelsea have an offer to accept,” he added to the British paper.

While The Sun are not reliable when it comes to transfer rumors, these are quotes from Courtois’ agent. The transfer will have to be completed in the next few days given that Chelsea will want to sign a replacement for him and that the transfer window in England closes on August 9th. So while it seems that Real Madrid and Courtois want to be together, it’s up to Chelsea to decide whether to let him go right now or to lose him as a free agent next year.
