Lucas Vazquez: “ I have no doubt that Modric will stay”

The rumors suggesting that Luka Modric will leave Real Madrid to join Inter Milan don’t make much sense. At least, that’s what winger Lucas Vazquez says, revealing that the whole roster is expecting Modric to stay in Real Madrid this summer.

“We are calm, we have him with us and I have no doubt that he will stay here,” said Vazquez. “You never know in football but Luka is a Madrid player and will continue to be that way,” he added.

Modric reportedly wants to get a new contract, either with Real Madrid or somewhere else. The midfielder won the award for Best Player in the recent FIFA World Cup and while he is in great form it’s also true that he will turn 33 years old and a long contract with big salary could hurt Real Madrid in the long run. Either way, it seems clear that Modric will stay in the Spanish capital.
