Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told new coach Maurizio Sarri that he wants to leave the London-based club this summer, according to a report from ESPN FC.
Sarri told the press that Courtois could be leaving Chelsea if he really wanted to leave, so this is a big step forward for the Belgian goalkeeper just three days ahead of the end of the transfer market in England.
Real Madrid have reportedly been after Courtois all summer long and the goalkeeper would be keen on a return to the Spanish capital because his family lives there ever since he was playing for Atletico de Madrid, so it seems that Los Blancos will be able to sign their man this summer.
If Courtois ends up signing for Real Madrid, Keylor Navas could stay and compete for a starting spot or just leave and start somewhere else. All in all, it would make sense for Madrid to give Courtois the role as a starter if they decide to spend money on him.
