Spanish outlet, Marca, has reported that Mateo Kovacic will no longer train with Real Madrid as he wants his future to be resolved. In a dramatic and rebellious decision like this, it’s obvious that the Croatian sees his future away from Real Madrid and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. After talking with club officials today, Kovacic feels he is not being respected and does not understand the clubs decision to try and impede a move.

The player had already announced his intention to move during the World Cup. In an interview last month with Marca, “I want to play more and it’s for the best that I leave Real Madrid” Kovacic clearly stated his intentions.

It is again evident that Mateo Kovacic feels there is no place for him in the Madrid midfield with Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro occupying the three starting births and competition from Dani Ceballos, Isco, and Llorente adding further fuel to that fire.

Marca states that Kovacic has asked on three separate occasions this summer to leave Real Madrid including a conversation with Julen Lopetegui, where he reiterated that desire to move. The club have declared Mateo un-transferable, as they see him as the cornerstone of the future midfield. At this point, it seems there may be no convincing Mateo. A training rebellion likely will not end well. No player is bigger than the club and Florentino Perez has never forced a player to stay against his will.
