Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic is about to join Chelsea FC on a loan deal for next season, according to a report from MARCA. The transfer could be announced in the upcoming hours, per that same report.
Kovacic would return to Madrid next summer in what will be a good deal for Los Blancos given that they retain full control of the player’s future. Kovacic wanted to leave Madrid in order to be a starter elsewhere and it seems that he will be able to have that role in London, so all three parts involved will benefit from this deal.
Kovacic is still 24 years old and seems destined to be a starter for Real Madrid once Luka Modric leaves or enters his decline. That’s mainly why Madrid decided to send him on loan instead of selling the midfielder. He has great potential and his playing style will suit the Premier League.
