It is the last bit of time that us MM’ers will have together in our pre-season, as Real Madrid take on Roma in our last game of the International Champions Cup. Is it just me, or does this year’s pre-season seem exceptionally short? Oh, maybe because there was that little tournament called The World Cup, but still... just three games? And then on to the UEFA Super Cup already next week against THE MOST HATED TEAM IN THE WOR— I mean Atletico Madrid. I know that is still considered pre-season but it’s for a real trophy, so to me it’s not really pre-season, so just go with me here.
By the time this match thread goes live we will most likely know who the starters are and maybe even have some further answers on Kovacic’s future (if he is not even on the bench then I think we can say goodbye). My guess is that J-Lo starts with what he considers his strongest squad to try to get as many starters as fit as possible before next week’s important game. This is a little bit of a bummer because I know many of us would still like to see Vinicius, Odegaard/gourd, and some of our other youngsters, get more minutes while they can. Let’s hope for lots of rotations and subs throughout, and most importantly for no injuries.
HALA MADRID!
