Florentino Perez will ask Real Madrid socios about obtaining a credit to fund the works for the new Santiago Bernabeu, which are set to begin by the end of the year, according to a report from MARCA.

The project for the new stadium was approved four years ago but Real Madrid found many obstacles on their way to redevelop the Santiago Bernabeu.

Initially, International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) was going to fund the whole stadium, but they changed their mind and it seems that Real Madrid will have to pay for the whole project, which is believed to cost around €400 million.

The access to the stadium will be improved and the club will also add a 360º scoreboard as part of the new Bernabeu, which will also feature a roof to protect players and fans from the cold and bad weather.

Works could last around two years, Real Madrid reported when the project was approved.
