Real Madrid host AS Roma in their opening game of the 2018-19 edition of the Champions League. Los Blancos are coming off a frustrating draw against Athletic Bilbao and the very same thing happens to the Italian club, so both teams will surely try to earn some redemption by achieving a good result while completing a solid performance in the process.

The attacking trio of Bale, Benzema and Asensio was poor against Athletic. Knowing that Madrid’s schedule is about to get busier, Lopetegui could decide to give Isco the chance to start on the left wing and Mariano could also get minutes upfront in Benzema’s spot.

All in all, Roma are a quality team and they will be expected to be Madrid’s toughest opponent in this Group Stage. That’s why a home win is so crucial for Los Blancos, so they should play with a lot of intensity from the get go knowing that Roma have the firepower and the quality to score even when they are struggling.
