Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal will miss the team’s trip to Sevilla this Wednesday in what will be a tough game for Los Blancos. Carvajal picked up a small injury during the match against Roma and hasn’t had time to recover in time for Sevilla, even though coach Julen Lopetegui admitted last Friday that this was his target.
That said, Nacho and Alvaro Odriozola will be the candidates to replace Carvajal in the starting XI. While Odriozola has only played one official game for Madrid, Los Blancos spent €40 million to sign him away from Real Sociedad and it would make no sense to leave him on the bench now that the starter is injured. However, it’s also true that Nacho would most likely give the team more composure defensively as Odriozola tends to be an attacking-minded right-back.
Lopetegui will talk to the media later this Tuesday and might share his thoughts on who has more chances to start on the defensive line.
