Real Madrid just published a medical report on Marcelo, who sustained a calf injury during Wednesday’s away match against Sevilla.

After the tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services on our player Marcelo, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the soleus of his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

Marcelo will therefore miss Saturday’s Madrid Derby against Atletico de Madrid and possibly three more weeks, given that these muscle injuries are always tricky and need time to heal so that he doesn’t suffer the same injury later this season.

The Brazilian left-back is a crucial player for Madrid’s offensive system and Julen Lopetegui will surely miss his creativity, even though his form was extremely poor at the moment and that his performance this Wednesday was abysmal. Nacho and academy player Sergio Reguilon will be the ones replacing Marcelo in the lineups.
