Rodrigo Moreno, the talented Brazilian-born Spaniard, was the subject of many transfer rumors this summer after his impressive season with Valencia under Marcelino. While speaking to El Partidazo de Cope on Wednesday night, the striker made it clear that he is “very happy with the team (Valencia)” and that he is, “ completely concentrated on helping the club”.
Rodrigo was well liked by Julen Lopetegui and was selected over the likes of Alvaro Morata for this summer’s Spain squad. The Valencia player spoke about the rumors which constantly linked him with a move to Madrid, “I never received a call from Lopetegui and nothing happened. I still don’t know if the club received any offer, if anyone knows, it’s the board at Valencia”.
With Mariano now returning as a memeber of the first team, any news regarding Rodrigo has dissipated. The player himself made it a point to distance himself from Madrid, reiterating multiple times, “Valencia is the priority, I would never force any negative situation.” After years of being linked with a return home during his Bolton, Benefica, and now Valencia days, it seems the Madrid train may have finally passed for Rodrigo.
