According to a report from Marca, Huesca have made an official inquiry to Real Madrid regarging a potential loan move for Andrey Lunin until the end of the season. The top brass at the Bernabeu are very much open to this deal as the loan to Leganes simply has not worked out. Even Copa Del Rey minutes have been washed to the side, as Leganes drew Real Madrid and the “fear clause” means Lunin cannot feature without Leganes paying a penalty. With a 3-0 aggreagte lead already in hand, it’s very unlikely Leganes would progress in the competion, meaning it would be a whole year wasted in the promising keeper’s development.
Managing Madrid reported earlier this month on three possible options for Lunin’s future—the most ideal being a new loan to a team where he would be the undisputed #1. Mauricio Pellegrino came out this Friday and stated that Leganes were in search of a goalkeeper, likely meaning that Madrid were searching for a destination for their young prospect. Madrid fans will be keeping their fingers crossed, in hopes that all the pieces fall together and Huesca can pull off the loan deal. For Patreons, if the deal is finalized, in depth coverage will be provided on Lunin’s performances and progress every Tuesday on Managing Madrid’s “Loan Tracker” Podcast.
