Real Madrid prospect Martin Odegaard talked to the press and revealed that his main goal right now is to be a starter in the Spanish capital.
“When I joined Real Madrid and they told me what they had in mind for me, training with the first team while playing for Zidane in Castilla, I though that it was a great plan. I am young and I need to play but I also need to train with great players, so this was the best solution for me,” said Odegaard.
Odegaard is now on a loan deal with Vitesse and while he hasn’t been a starter in one of the top leagues in Europe just yet, he has been performing well in the Eredivisie. Many thought that the Norwegian player was going to take the next step and play for a team in La Liga this season, but Madrid ultimately decided to send him to Netherlands and will have to make yet another tough call next summer if there are not big teams in Europe interested in a loan deal for Odegaard.
