Real Madrid have a depleted, thin squad at the moment yet Solari doesn’t want to talk about transfers.

Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari talked to the press ahead of Wednesday’s match against Leganes in the Copa del Rey. His team has a lot of injuries at the moment and academy players like Cristo have played meaningful minutes replacing the starters. Still, it looks like the club will not sign anyone this winter.

“I’m not going to get into the transfer policy. The squad is what we have here at the moment, we have a mix of youth and experience and they are all committed,” said Solari about this matter.

Real Madrid have a 3-0 lead on aggregate and that makes Wednesday’s game much more comfortable. However, Solari wants his players to stay focused.

“We shouldn’t focus on the lead we have over Leganés, we need to remain focused and try to kill the tie off from the first minute. They are a disciplined side. They are driven, and are a real force at home. I am proud of this team’s unbridled will to compete, their commitment to the club and what these colors mean, especially given how many years they have gone on winning titles. The will to come in and train and go into the next game with that same drive is great,” explained Solari.

Vinicius has been performing very well over the last few games and he’s been one of the brightest spots for Madrid this season.

“He is very talented and he shows it when he needs to in games, whether home or away. Having come in just this season and doing what he has done, it is impressive, we all need to look out for him,” added Solari.

Real Madrid have been relying on young players now that they have a thin squad.

“Young players sometimes bring that speed, vitality and freshness, and that is bolstered by the maturity and experience that the older players have. They are always helped along by the support other players give them. Obviously they are here on their own merit. The other day we had a lot of players under 20 who ended up getting minutes, but they will always be helped along by those with experience,” concluded Solari.
