Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro scored the opening goal for his team against Sevilla this past weekend in brilliant fashion. Then, he supported his teammates after the game by saying that the attackers are not to blame.

“Don’t blame our attackers for our lack of goals, Real Madrid always have to win and our forwards are doing very well,” said Casemiro. “We aren’t scoring goals, but that isn’t on the attackers. Vinicius is in incredible form and Karim Benzema is having his best season to date,” he added.

While it’s true that Benzema has been performing very well this season, teammates like Gareth Bale or Marco Asensio will need to step their game up if Madrid want to compete for trophies this year. Both of them were expected to take a leap after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo yet they have not delivered. If they can turn things around and improve, Real Madrid might have the chance to win something at the end of the season.
