Real Madrid midfielders Marcos Llorente and Toni Kroos rejoined the squad in training this Monday and will be available to face Girona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey Quarterfinals this next Thursday.
Both Llorente and Kroos had been out for a while and might need some time to get completely ready to play. While Llorente might spend some time on the bench now that Casemiro is healthy, Kroos should make his return to the starting lineup sooner rather than later.
Still, Real’s coaching staff will not rush them back even if Solari needs to rotate his squad and rest some of the starters.
The first leg against Girona will be crucial and Madrid must try to keep a clean sheet while also gaining a solid lead towards the return leg in Montilivi. The Copa del Rey could be Real Madrid’s most realistic chance at winning a trophy this season, so Solari and his men should take this game very seriously.
