Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema won’t have surgery to repair his right pinky and will not need to miss any games to recover from that injury. The attacker was forced to leave Real’s away match against Betis and some feared that he could miss at least a week, but in the end he will play through pain while wearing a cast to protect his finger.
This is great news for Madrid as backup striker Mariano Diaz hasn’t played a single game over the last few months. Mariano is reportedly training with the squad after recovering from his back injury but it’s clear that he might not be ready to start for Real Madrid on a consistent basis.
Benzema has been performing very well this season even though Real Madrid have been lacking some scoring punch. The French attacker is simply not that kind of player but his overall performances have been a positive for Los Blancos.
