Real Madrid and Keylor Navas have reached an agreement to extend the goalkeeper’s contract with the club, according to reports from Jugones and MARCA. Navas’ new deal would expire in 2021 and his salary will increase in €1 million, per those same reports.
Keylor Navas is not Real Madrid’s starting goalkeeper anymore and many thought that he could be on his way out of the club. However, Madrid seem to be satisfied with Navas’ attitude while being a reserve and decided to give him a new deal.
It’s worth mentioning that Navas’ previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2020, something which could significantly hurt his value had Madrid decided to part ways with him next June. Now, Madrid and Navas could possibly decide to explore the market next summer and if the Costa Rican goalkeeper ends up wanting to leave the club to become a starter again, Madrid will get a good deal.
